Privatization
The
SFDSA strongly opposes prison
privatization at the local, state,
and federal level. Prison
privatization severely jeopardizes
public safety and fails to provide
the cost savings that private prison
companies promise to deliver. Our communities deserve the safest
lock on the doors and not the
cheapest. SFDSA joins our
brothers and sisters across this
nation who work in custody positions in
the fight against private prisons. Our job - to keep communities safe
from the criminal element
- is too important to turn over to
the private sector.
